Butterflies and Kisses

Anticipation can be one of the sexiest parts of a relationship.  Think about it – the smoldering eyes, the slow-motion replays in your head, and the butterflies you get when someone mentions their name.

My husband and I have been friends almost our entire life.  The sound of his voice has always given me butterflies.

For our first date we just hung out like friends.  We watched a movie and played cards like friends do – then he kissed me.  Butterflies…oh, the butterflies!

We lived in different parts of our state and tried the long-distance relationship for a while.  But the anticipation of the weekend only made the weekdays seem so much longer!

Now that we are grandparents, the things we look forward to have changed a little, but I still get butterflies just hearing his voice.  I still look forward to playing cards and watching movies with him.

As the years flew past, we found that we have had to work a little harder at some points of our relationship, but the butterflies are always there!
